Visiting Los Angeles! (Um, Back in June)

This made it's way into my awareness and I jokingly begged Matt that we should go to LA for one night to see it because I'm a crazy obsessed Bob's Burgers fan.  (Like, tattoo level crazy obsessed.)  And, holy shit, he said yes!  And that we should make it into a week vacation.  Sold!

He really loves trains so we decided to take one there and then fly back.  He splurged and got a us a roommette, which folds down to two bunks.  The trip was 22 hours and having a room with a door and some extra space was amazing.  They'll also bring you your meals so you don't have to eat with strangers in the dining car.  Even when, literally every single other table is empty, they seat you all together.  A dozen empty tables, only four of us there for breakfast...forced us all to sit at the same 4-person table.  What the hell is that about?  Anyway.  Matt really want to get one of their full bedrooms and take the train to San Francisco in winter so we can go through the snowy mountains.  Seriously, can you even imagine how beautiful that'll be!?  I mean, swooooon!

Since it was LA, he insisted we rent a convertible.  Which was especially fun when we drove up the coast to Santa Barbara. Even though I generally despise the sun and the many ways in which it attempts to torture and murder me.  He thought he knew nightmarish traffic, being from Austin.  AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  Oh, my sweet summer child.  He...didn't last long.

We met up with Janet for lunch and then some goddamn amazing ice cream and churros at Churro Burough!

And and and I spent time with my most beloved Keila!!! I so wish we'd had more time in LA so I could have harassed her into seeing me daily!  I miss her so much it hurts.

(Okay, I swear to god I’m the least photographic human being on planet Earth.  It’s like my photo default is Crazy Eye.  Then I felt douchey asking for a retake but it's so awful I don't even want to post it but but but Keila and...here we are.)

AND THEN AND THEN AND THEN
I WENT TO THE GOLDEN GIRLS’ HOUSE
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!!

“LOOK MAJESTIC!!”  (i.e. like an ass)

The hotel we stayed in had only been open a few weeks so there were quite a few problems but, hell, at least it looked pretty.

IT'S TIME!

My very favorite part was when I glanced over, saw Kristin Schaal (Louise) in the wings, completely off-stage, during a song she wasn’t in, and she was still singing along and dancing all over the place!  It was just the cutest thing everrrr!  I died!

Then, home!  Matt never wants to go back due solely to the traffic.  Poor kid was traumatized!  Really, can you blame him?
