  1. GOOD FOR YOU! Yes, yes, YES on Octavia Butler (RIP). I have already read Kindred, Clay's Ark and part of the trilogy Xenogenesis. She is bad - and I mean that GOOD! :)

    I'm currently reading a self-help book recommended by my therapist that might be helpful to you and many of us who came from dysfunctional families by an author named John Bradshaw. Book is titled: Homecoming: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child.

    If you or anyone has already read it, let me know what you think. I think that it has already helped me to some degree, and I haven't even begun the pain work yet.
