I talked to my landlord and bought myself some time. I have until June. He’s, truly, so kind and understanding that it brings me to tears. So I have a month and a half to empty this place out. I can do this, damn it!

I’m meeting an online friend in person this week! I’m super duper excited. I absolutely adore her and am so giddy that she’s in California so we can finally hang out.

My fibromyalgia has been flaring up hardcore lately. There have been days when I can barely get out of bed except for when I have to limp and shuffle to the bathroom. Urgh. Thankfully I get my prescriptions – including painkillers – refilled today.

I ate shit hard on cement and ended up with a bruise that covers almost my entire forearm. My therapist asked what caused it. I told him. His response, “Heidi…with the guys you date…I had to ask.” Hey, come on now!

Well, my electricity still isn't back on. After six long days and five much longer nights. I'm hoping a check will clear today so I can get it reconnected. While electricity-less I have, so far, read Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke and Snuff; Haruki Murakami’s A Wild Sheep Chase and Hard-Boiled Wonderland & the End of the World; Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet; and Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace. I loved all of them.

I’ve been feeling so lonely lately. Well, by “lately” I mean for months now. Living with other people is going to be really good for me, I think.

I’m really in need of some adventure. The fun kind of adventure. Not the I-have-no-electricity-for-a-week kind of adventure.

  1. Dude. I want an adventure. can we hang out? Is that weird and stalkery? I really hope not, but if so please ignore me and accept my sincerest apology. If not, and the idea interests you, email me at katie.m.jacobson at gmail dot com.

  2. have you tried pretending you are camping out?...using candles? and enjoying bubble baths? Do you have hot water without electricity? Anyway, I think the sooner you move out the better....hope you enjoy meeting the blogger in real life...
