Hope

There’s now a chance that the cancer has spread to my Mama’s liver. They feel it’s best for her to finish healing completely from the previous surgery before they go in again for another biopsy. So it’ll be several months before anything is known. She feels fine though. And has become quite popular among all the nursing and medical students at the hospital she’s staying in because her case is so “unique.” She’s constantly telling them that if they’re not going to listen to their patients, they might as well find another line of work.

My electricity is finally back on. After seven loooooong nights. Eesh. And I was able to pick up my medication. One more month of sanity guaranteed. I have the best friends a girl could ever ask for. And I did get a lot of reading done! I used to be a voracious reader but my attention span has been shot for so long that I haven’t read in many months. And haven’t read that much in a lot of years. It was like coming home again.

I really do think that if I can survive the next month and a half things are going to get a lot better. I’m going to get back into therapy on a more consistent basis, start saving for bankruptcy, gain control of my eating habits, start walking and swimming… I think it’s time to turn things around. And I’m excited to see where this new path takes me.

  1. Hey there, from a rare commenter/reader of your site.

I just want to tell you that once bankruptcy is finally taken care of, I can almost 100% guarantee you that you WILL feel a great sense of relief. Please just hang in there until you can get this taken care of, I speak from experience. And I can also promise you that you CAN, without a doubt, recover from bankruptcy too, restore credit and move forward.

I just have a feeling that once this is taken care of for you that you'll feel SO much better, that giant financial doom and gloom will be off your shoulders and you can move forward. Good luck and hang in there!

  3. I'm sorry about your mother but it does seem like she is there for a reason. Just think of all the good attention she is getting in the working hospital...and making lots of friends too. That has to make YOU feel so much better for her.
And I am happy to read that you are optimistic again and looking forward to the future. It IS going to get better. It's time for those doors to open for you and for your life to get brighter.

  4. Print that last paragraph off in a big font size and leave it all over your house: on the inside of your front door, on the kitchen counter, in the center of your bathroom mirror. Do not forget those thoughts.
