UPS Came

16/365

awdrey-gore made my day!

My rent check bounced. I can’t fucking handle this. I’m considering letting my insurance lapse because it’s $350 a month I can’t afford. But I know that would be a horribly bad idea because I wouldn’t be able to get my meds. Argh. We fell behind and I just can’t seem to get us caught up. I feel like such a failure.

I would really be loving life if I could just get this financial shit under control.

But maybe I can love life anyway. I’m going to try my damndest.

I’m going to figure this shit out today. And make a plan. I can do this. I can take back control of my life. That’s what 2010 is all about…and it’s time to start doing the work.

  1. Tell me again why you are not on Medi-Cal? You are receiving Social Security and are considered disabiled and should be eligible for Medi-cal even if you have a Share of Cost...also, Walmart has some medications for $4 ( I am not sure if you have one where you live)...but we always refer people to them...

  2. You can't give up. You have to have insurance...without your meds you'll be right back where you were. i love you and believe in you. what about finding a cheaper place to rent since your mom is in the nursing home & purging a bunch of the junk in the house. do you think you could have a yard sale? i mean, if you could sell the junk for $1 or $2 each then you could have a ton of $$$.

    love you.

  3. Have you ever thought about AmeriCorps? It's like a government-subsidized volunteer program that is similar to the Peace Corps, although the assignments are usually only a year. Some of these volunteer opportunities offer health insurance, and most involve payment, either in a cash stipend or money for school. I noticed you had been writing about wanting to do volunteer work. I've never done any of these programs but I've had it highly recommended to me.
